VISA-TCPIP on RT Systems
For some reason it's not possible to create a VISA-TCPIP resource on a NI Real-Time System with MAX. The following error dialog will appear.
The only known way of creating such a resource is to manually add it to the visaconf.ini file. When not sure about the correct syntax or format, it can help to create a new VISA-TCPIP resource with MAX for the target “My Computer” and then look at the visaconf.ini file. The new entries can be found in the section [TCPIP-RSRCS] and [ALIASES] (if an alias was assigned).
On Windows, the visaconf.ini file can be found in C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\NIvisa\ and on NI Linux RT on /etc/ni-visa/.
When editing the file, don't forget to adapt the values for NumOfResources and NumAliases accordingly.
